UDSTILLET

I filmed this video trilogy during my first residency taking place in Nuuk, Kalaallit Nunaat. Just me and my video camera. Doing and not thinking. Of course I was thinking. But I wasn’t trying to find meaning in what I was doing. All that happens in the editing. And all the applications where you have to justify why you want people to put on their fancy clothes go to an exhibition and watch you play the piano with your eyebrows. What characterises the videos is limited time. Either because of the weather; the sun suddenly shining or the camera not working below 0 degrees, but you keep on dancing in your bathing suit, because you can’t see it's not filming anymore. I hope someone at least enjoyed the live performance.

Or the short window of time between exhibitions in the museum. Getting all possible angles. Falling down the stairs from all possible angles. I hope someone at least enjoyed the live performance.

If I were to make a documentary about myself or write a biography (if you wanna do it, you are more than welcome), this would be classified as my “early work”. The work where I was “finding” myself as an artist, fumbling around, not knowing which path to take. But maybe this will be my most pure work. Who knows. I hope someone at least enjoyed the live performance.
