A suspended bridge filled with haze, two powerful laser beams, nine dancers and a composed soundscape. Visualising the invisible grids that shape our lives, GRID explores how society's systems both connect and confine us. As a reference to the ones that do not fit into the grid of our time, the piece takes inspiration from the study of crystals and their grid structure. At its core GRID is an abstraction of the poem OUTSIDER (2023) by writer and geologist Inger Spangsberg Jensen:

The composed music is based on probabilities from the chemical elements of the poem creating an unpredictable and -defineable course. The suspended bridge becomes a symbol of how we can bridge the gap between science and art and use it to understand the world in a different way.
GRID is a collaboration between Astrid Sten Andersen, Vertigo, University of Copenhagen, and Copenhagen Light Festival.
